Colorado Springs Police report that the area is no longer on accident alert status. This status allows people involved in car accidents to exchange information and to report the accident later if nobody is injured.
X Games athlete Caleb Moore has died as a result of the injuries that he sustained when participating in a freestyle event.
A 47-year-old man involved in a head-on collision died as a result of the injuries he sustained at the accident. He was not wearing his seatbelt. The driver and passenger in the other vehicle survived and suffered no or minor injuries.
An adult, 7-year-old boy and 9-year-old girl from Windsor, Ontario were killed in an accident on I-75 after visibility was diminished. Emergency responders were not able to save any of them, but one fireman rescued a dog from the vehicle.

Toyota is recalling approximately 1 million vehicles due to problems with airbags and wipers. Multiple injuries have been reported that are related to these problems.
Colorado Springs has received 20 electronic message signs that are being placed along major traffic areas. The signs were received as part of a federal grant and will display information such as information about accidents, disabled vehicles and events that will likely affect traffic.
